Calluna vulgaris 'Aurea'

This variety of Scotch heather has been around for over 150 years, so you have to know it is a good one. The bright golden summer foliage contrasts nicely to the light lavender flowers that cover the plant in August-September. In winter the foliage turns to a copper-red color with some gold still showing. Stunning! One plant will grow to 8 inches tall and 2-3 ft wide in a spreading fashion. Hardy to zone 5.
