Calluna vulgaris 'Amethyst'

Spiky and upright Scotch heather with crimson/purple flowers in August through October. This 'bud bloomer' will bloom longer because the flowers don't open fully and get pollinated. We really like the 'bud bloomers' due to this great quality. Sometimes they start in August and go to Christmas! Created by the famous heath/heather breeder Kurt Kramer of Scotland. Hardy to zone 4, this cultivar will be 12"-15" tall and 2-3 ft wide in 10 years. Prune after blooming is over.
