A unique color for rhododendrons, wine reddish purple. Perhaps burgundy is closest. Strong, quick grower for those who do not wish to wait so long to fill up that empty spot. Great choice for a screen or hedge. We recommend this cultivar for anyone who says "I have a black thumb", as it is one of the easiest rhododendrons to grow. The foliage is very dark-green, making a very handsome plant over time. It tends to grow wider than tall as well. Blooms in mid April, but sometimes in the autumn as well.
