Acer palmatum 'Trompenburg'

This award winning Japanese maple will add drama and quality to any garden it is planted in. The deep reddish-purple leaves are very shiny and deeply cut, almost to the base. The edges of each part of each leaf is curved downwards, giving the foliage a strong look. In the spring, the leaves come out a deep reddish-purple, then in late summer the color shifts to a vibrant crimson-red before dropping in the late fall. Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. Hardy to zone 5.
