Acer palmatum 'Shu shidare'

 Another fabulous discovery and introduction by Talon Buchholz of Buchholz & Buchholz Nursery in Oregon, this one starts out with finely dissected orange leaves coming out in spring. Then by summer the leaves turns orange and green, followed by brilliant orange-red leaves in the fall. The name means "orange weeping", and the tree has a strong mounding form, only growing to 3 ft tall x 6 ft wide in 10 years.  Hardy to zone 5.
