Looking for a low, petite Japanese maple with some excellent attributes? This one has smaller star-shaped, colorful leaves and will grow into a smaller upright tree 3 ft tall and 2 ft wide in 10 years. The winged seed structures are also colorful. Also known as 'Beni hoshi', which means red star in Japanese. Great for a patio container. Hardy to zone 5.
