Acer palmatum 'Harasume'

A medium sized tree in the group of Japanese maples, Harasume will grow 10 to 12 feet in 10 years, slowing down considerably after that and making the perfect yard statement.  As with most Japanese maples, the beauty is in the details and Harasume has lovely detail! The spring leaves emerge fiery red with yellow veining. The tree fills out quickly and turns golden green through the summer months. The leaf petioles are bright red throughout creating remarkable contrast for those with a discerning eye. The branches become quite bushy with golden green leaves softly billowing in the summer breezes creating a tranquil feeling in the garden. When fall sets in, the leaves will take on shades of orange and red and put on quite a show before falling for the winter.  This mid size yard tree is hardy to zone 5 and would brighten shady spots with its lovely golden summer color or make a lovely statement in the center of your backyard.
