Acer palmatum 'Crimson Queen'

A lovely red laceleaf type of Japanese Maple that mounds and stays red throughout the growing season, In late summer there is a bronze-green look, which is followed by bright scarlet foliage in fall. This cultivar is more sun tolerant than most showing no sunburn even in hot sun. The cascading habit can add a dramatic look planted by the edge of a pond, or above a grouping of rocks. Can be pruned to stay a moderate size, or left alone can grow up to 8 ft tall and 10 ft wide. Deciduous and hardy to zone 5. Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society for its outstanding qualities.
