Abies concolor 'Candicans'

Abies concolor 'Candicans'

Considered by many to be the Bluest of all conifers, this larger growing selection of White fir is always popular. The long blue needles will often be more than 2 inches long, adding strong texture to the perfect dense pyramidal form.  Found in 1929 as a selection from seedlings grown at the Arboretum National des Barres, Nogent-sur-Vernisson, France. The cultivar will grow to 10 ft tall and 5 ft wide in 10 years. Rare in cultivation.
