Juniperus horizontalis 'Mother Lode'

 An excellent ground cover juniper that sports golden-yellow foliage that creeps along the ground, rooting as it goes. The soft, feathery foliage of this unique cultivar will eventually spread 8ft - 10ft wide, but only a couple of inches high. Low maintenance plant that prefers dryish sandy soil, but will tolerate a wide range of soil types. Excellent for the rock garden, staked up as a specimen, or will be useful growing flat on slopes for erosion control. Tolerant of hot, dry conditions and hardy to zone 3.
