Arnold Piper

Arnold Piper

Developed by the late Halfdan Lem, and belonging to his 'Walloper' group of hybrids, this robust plant has 'basketball' size trusses of watermelon-pink with a dark cherry-red throat.  There are white streaks and red spotting in each flower to add interest.  The plant is a vigorous grower with very thick stems and leathery leaves, that are somewhat bronzy in new growth.  Make sure you have room for this plant as it will fill a large space.  We often recommend this one for screening as it will grow at least 8 ft. tall and wide. The flowering will be from ‘head to toe’, making a very memorable display.
