Tsuga canadensis 'Stockman's Dwarf'
Originally found as a chance seedling by the Stockman's Nursery in the 1940's, then named and registered by the famous plantsman John Vermeulen from New Jersey as 'Stockman's Dwarf' in 1960. The cultivar is very slow growing, and has short, densely arranged, dark green foliage reminiscent of clouds. Topping out at 20 inches tall and wide, is performs best in full sun to partial shade.
