Pygmaea
Pygmaea
A most unusual witch's broom of Cedrus deodora, this little plant is an excellent candidate for bonsai. Slow and tight with steel blue needles, the growth is congested and tufted. This plant is on the border between miniature and dwarf. Our plant is 8 inches tall and 12 inches wide in 9 years . Others, including the American Conifer Society put this plant into the ‘dwarf’ category, but we would say ‘miniature’. Perhaps it can vary by specimen, or the wood that was used to graft it. We graft from wood off our plant, so should look like the photo. Slow growing, but worth a special spot in your rock garden, container, or just at the end of a bed. Choice and recommended!
