Daphne tangutica

Daphne tangutica

Probably the easiest to grow of all of the daphne. This plant was previously called Daphne retusa, but now has a new identification. The simple, leathery, shiny, dark-green leaves are 1-2 inches long on a dense and mounding shrub 2-3 ft tall and about as wide. The HIGHLY FRAGRANT flowers appear in dense, 3 inch clusters with purple-pink on the outside, and white with a pink tinge inside. Fruits in late summer, attracting birds. Plant in full sun to partial shade in well drained soil.
