Az. 'Meikyo'

Originally bred for bonsai, this Satsuki hybrid is a wonderful performer.  The plant is compact with dense dark-green leaves, spreading to a rounded form. The interesting flowers appear in mid to late spring and are funnel-shaped, white with red markings, or salmon-pink with white markings, 2 inches across. One can grow this plant as a garden plant with success, or try it as a bonsai.
