Pleroma urvilleanum- Princess Flower

Pleroma urvilleanum- Princess Flower

A semi-tropical plant originating in Guiana that has rich velvety purple flowers that bloom almost year round here in California near the coast. It is tender, and can only be grown in zones 9-11, although there are reports that in colder climates it will die to the ground in winter, but resprout from the roots and flower all summer and fall. The foliage is also very attractive, sometimes known as 'silver leaf'. Can be trained as a vine. Container plants may be brought indoors for overwintering in areas where plants are not winter hardy. Will grow 6 ft tall, but can also prune to keep to be a more managable size. Evergreen
