Rhododendron species from India Arunachal Pradesh. A sometimes epiphytic plant growing on trees, or rock and cliffs. Moderately scented white flowers with a yellow center appear in May on an open growing shrub with cinnamon colored, peeling bark, which it is prized for. This species rhododendron will grow to 6-8 ft tall in 10 years, and is hardy to 20 deg F. From the Maddenii ssp. ciliicalyx section of the rhododendron group. Discovered by Mrs. Parry, wife of an officer in the Indian civil Service.
Hardy in zones 9 and 10.
