R. occidentale SM-30 / 'Crescent City Gold'
R. occidentale SM-30 / 'Crescent City Gold'
Here is one of the famous Smith-Mossman cultivars from their collections they made in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties of Northern California. Most of their finds came from Stagecoach Hill and Crescent City, both areas adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. This cultivar has large white flowers with a rich butter-yellow flare in the upper petals. One of the characteristics of R. occidentale is that flowers in a single truss will open in sequence rather that all at once. You will have spent flowers, open flowers and buds in various stages of maturity. Therefore, no ball truss but a very long flowering period. This one is also known as 'Crescent City Gold'.
