R. 'Nova Zembla'
R. 'Nova Zembla'
This old variety is well known for its cold hardiness, down to -25 deg F. The color is not a true red, but for those in the cold part of the country, it is close enough. Besides being cold hardy, this one is not finicky and can take more extreme conditions like heat and humidity in the summer months. It flowers heavily in May each and every year even with little care. We try to propagate 'Nova Zembla' every year for the harsh winter gardeners.
