R. 'L'Engin'
R. 'L'Engin'
New from France comes this huge flowering pink rhododendron. Measuring 5 inches across, the pink flowers have a red throat with pink spotting. The individual flower size makes very large flower trusses, which is the meaning of the name. Christian de la Sablière the creator of this plant is friends with Marc Colombel, our French connection for new and exciting rhododendrons from Europe. Marc hybridizes with mostly tetraploids, which makes superior plants...larger flowers, thicker stems, sturdy leaves, few pests or diseases. We are fortunate to have Marc as our good friend, as he sends us cuttings of his or his friend's best work. There are several coming down the pike!
Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
· Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
· Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
