R. cilicalyx x R. formosum MCBG
R. cilicalyx x R. formosum MCBG
A hybrid between two fragrant species is very nice. The flower trusses are larger, and more colorful than either of the species. The foliage is very much like R. formosum, but wider. The fragrance is equally as potent as either species. We think this variety is worth growing if you are a collector of the tender fragrant species. The plant will be somewhat 'open' growing, as many of these plants are, but can be improved with a bit of pruning after the blooming is done. The designation MCBG stands for Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden, from which it originated.
