Picea o. 'Mt. Vernon'

Picea orientalis 'Mt. Vernon' Useful for smaller gardens, this tidy form of Oriental Spruce is one of the best. The plant will grow wider than tall with dense, dark-green foliage in a 'nest form'. Originally found by the Wells Nursery in Washington State, then introduced to the nursery trade in 1972. Over time it will produce cones decorating the plant. Will be 2 ft tall and 3 ft wide over time, and displays small copper buds at the ends of the branches in spring. Hardy to zone 5.
