Loderi King George
Loderi King George
A huge plant with enormous fragrant trusses of white kissed with pink. It blooms in April, and will grow to be 6-8 ft. tall in 10 years. Great for screens and hedges. You will find Loderi King George in many older landscapes in the Pacific northwest and it continues to be one of our most requested plants each year for it's size, fragrance and hardiness. This variety is becoming rare in the trade because it is notoriously difficult to root by cutting. We keep Loderi King George on the roster until everyone has gotten one but please sign up and be patient and will notify everyone on the list when we have a crop available for purchase. At present, our stock looks phenomenyl, and expect everyone who buys one to be thrilled. Some of the leaves ont eh 3 gallon size are approaching 10 inches long each.
Note: Most all of the Loderi rhododendrons exhibit some characteristic leaf spotting that is caused by a virus. Some plants have more than others, but seems to be only found on the Loderi rhododendrons. It is not contageous to other plants, nor does it seem to cause plants to decline in health. Sometimes they grow out of it, while other times they are always visible. Not to worry, as this virus doesn't seem to spread to any other type of rhododendron, nor cause overall health issues with this variety. It is believed to be genetic, and as plants age, they seem to grow out of it. Currently, most of our stock has become clear of the spots, which signifies happiness.
