Japanese Katsura Tree. This hardy, medium-sized tree is distinctive. Opposing, heart-shaped leaves attract interest, changing from translucent bronze in spring, to summer green, to yellow and apricot-orange in autumn. Multi-trunked specimen trees with shaggy bark have eye-catching appeal. Throughout the seasons, it is among the most appealing of any hardy landscape tree. Considered to be a small tree, growing to 25-30 ft in 10 years. The late summer, early autumn foliage perfumes the air with fragrances like cinnamon, burnt sugar, or ripe apples. This happens when the foliage begins to turn red.
