Jacquemontii
Jacquemontii
This form of Betula utilis comes to us from the western Himalayas and is known by its exceptionally white bark. This tree is more resistant to pests and diseases, so it is preferred by most knowledgeable landscapers. It is not considered a large tree, reaching 15-20 ft tall in 10 years. The bark is super white and peeling, but will not be evident until the tree is 4-5 years old. The immature bark color is a light brown. The tree is clean and doesn't shed debris or cones. The leaves are a nice bright green and rarely have any blemishes. We like to plant these in groups for the best effect. Commonly known as the Himalayan White Bark Birch.
