The arborescens hydrangeas are also known as the 'smooth hydrangeas', wild hydrangea, sevenbark, or sheep flower. The species that this selection comes from is native to the eastern United States.  This selection has red flower buds that open to a two-toned combination of bright ruby red and silvery pink., which is rare for this species. A strong grower that is also a rebloomer, so makes it an excellent addition to any garden. It flowers on new wood, so will bloom every year without fail.  Grows 3-4 ft tall and 3 ft or more wide. Deciduous and hardy to zone 3.
