Hedychium 'Dr. Moy'
Hedychium 'Dr. Moy'
One of the most decorative of the ornamental ginger, this hybrid by the late plant breeder Dr. Moy of the San Antonio Botanical Garden is exquisite! The 4 ft. tall stalks with 12 inch long white speckled leaves are unique enough to have in any garden, but then in September the FRAGRANT butterfly-shaped peachy-orange flowers come out and cause a stir. Tolerant of more sun than the species, plus will grow nicely in a large container for those that have climates that are not hardy for this garden gem. This plant will add a tropical flavor to your garden. Evergreen in mild climates, but deciduous in cooler areas. Hardy to zone 7.
