Gold Rush

Gold Rush

What a show! This golden form of the Dawn Redwood is just incredible with its leaves of yellow attached opposing on the stems. The foliage is deciduous in Winter.  This plant was first found in Japan where it was known as 'Ogon'.  It is believed to have come from irradiated seed. In the spring the new growth is so bright and iridescent, you would think there was a light on inside.  'Gold Rush' is a very appropriate name and you will agree when you see it in your own garden.  It will grow to 14ft tall and 6ft wide in 10 years.
