R. formosum Edinburough form
R. formosum Edinburough form
Blooming for us in April here on the coast of northern California, R. formosum is a spicy addition to the fragrance garden. The plant has lance shaped leaves of medium green and looks full all year. The large light pink flowers cover the plant heavily in April with a heavenly sweet fragrance. An added bonus is the red-brown peeling bark, much like Manzanita. Only hardy to +15 F, but very worthwhile for the collector who has the right climate to grow it.
Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
These tender varieties are rare because they do not have a wide enough audience due to their lack of hardiness and are overlooked by the big growers.
Singing Tree Gardens has made these rare varieties our passion and remain committed to producing them for future generations. Currently we are the only source in the USA for these tender, FRAGRANT plants.
