Daphne x transatlantica 'Summer Ice'
Daphne x transatlantica 'Summer Ice'
Sometimes flowering over a period of six months, this daphne hybrid is quite special. The leaves have a white edging that gives the plant its name 'Summer Ice'. We love the little clusters of white HIGHLY FRAGRANT flowers at the branch ends that begin to open in early April and continue as late as November. The plant is completely deciduous in areas with very cold winters, and semi-deciduous in milder winter temperatures. The plant thrives in well drained beds, or even in a container. Hardy to zone 6. Perhaps because this a hybrid, 'Summer Ice' is easier to grow than most of the other cultivars.
