Cryptomeria japonica 'Globosa Nana'
Cryptomeria japonica 'Globosa Nana'
A form of Japanese Cedar that never needs shearing, and forms a globose form that is quite interesting over time. When I planted on near my home, I expected it to stay somewhat small, but over time it has gotten bigger than expected.Photos online show a smallish ball-shaped plant, but believe me, this one does not stay small. The one in this photo is probably over 30 years old, and is probably 15 ft across. This plant grows best in full sun and will turn a reddish bronze in winter. Hardy to zone 5. If you have room for one, you will love it!
