Cornus alba 'Bud's Yellow'
Cornus alba 'Bud's Yellow'
This cultivar of yellow twig dogwood is a brighter yellow, so was named 'Budd's Yellow'. In summer, the green leaves make this plant less visible in the landscape. But, in winter the bare bright yellow stems really stand out, especially if planted in front of a dark background. The stems tend to be unbranched, and also sucker from the spreading roots. For a winter accent plant, 'Budd's Yellow' can't be beat. The plant will grow to 5-6 ft tall and spread to, at least, 5 ft wide. Tolerates poor soil. Hardy to zone 3.
