Cobra
Cobra
Talk about 'Cousin It'...this should win the prize! When staked to the desired height, there is no end to your creativity. Let it grow horizontally after reaching 5 ft by using rebar, and you may end up with a dragon sculpture. The snake-like branches have very long, light gray-green needles (compared to the species). The terminal leaders can grow up to 2 feet per year, so you don't have to wait for a cool sculptural specimen. The lower branches will sprawl on the ground like a skirt, choking out weeds. Looking at the photos of these specimens, one can see where it got its name. Discovered and orginating from the Iseli Nursery, Boring Oregon, and registered in the 1980's.
