Az. 'Jack A. Sand'
Az. 'Jack A. Sand'
Here is one of the most sough after and beautiful deciduous azaleas ever created. The plant was created by the Knap Hill Nursery in England by using the parents R. molle, R. calendulaceum, R. arborescens, and R. occidentale. We love the double flowers with cream, pink and yellow throughout. The plant will be 4-5 ft tall in 10 years, and will thrive in sun or partial shade as long as the soil is well drained and has lots of bark or other organic woody elements included. The orange fall color of the foliage is also a quality that it is famous for. This cultivar is part of the many 'Exbury' hybrids created at that time, but are still in the trade today. Hardy to zone 5. Our plants are a bit on the small side, but are true to name and rarin' to go!
