This maddenii type hybrid rhododendron is from Australia but can also be found in New Zealand. This plant has nicely fragrant flowers that bloom in early April here in the Pacific Northwest. The bark is cinnamon colored and peels more with age. Tender, but very worthwhile for those who can grow it. This is another lovely rhododendron that is rare and very difficult to find due to it's tender nature.
