Alstroemeria 'Sussex Gold'

Very unique Alstroemeria 'Sussex Gold' offers brilliant golden yellow flowers in masses above blue-green foliage. The golden yellow flowers hold their color throughout the blooming season. Originating in eastern Brazil, the plants will be 2-3 ft tall, and remaining evergreen if winter temperatures stay above 15-20 degrees F, but tolerating lower temperatures if mulched. When harvesting as cut flowers, it is best to pull the stem out rather than cutting it. This will stimulate future blooming, which can last from summer into the fall.
