Pinus parviflora Adcock's Dwarf
Pinus parviflora Adcock's Dwarf
A broom selection of Pinus parviflora by the Hillier Nursery in the early 1960's. This Japanese white pine cultivar is slow growing to 3-4 ft tall and wide in 20 years, and is globose in form. The short blue-green needles are a bit twisted, adding interest. Pinus parviflora, the Japanese white pine, is native to Japan and Korea, and will typically have blue-green needles with white under. Although growing quite large in the wild, most of these Pinus parviflora cultivars that are registered and collectible, will grow small, under 4 ft tall. 'Adcock's Dwarf' will be among these smaller varieties. Slow, but worth adding to your collection.
