Mary Flemming

Mary Flemming

Nice smaller grower that fits into smaller gardens, rock gardens, or woodland plantings. The leaves are smaller than the more commonly recognized rhododendrons. The plant matures about 2 ft tall and 3-4 feet wide. The flowers have light pink, yellow and white, melded together making a nice peachy glow. Each flower has a darker pink throat blotch, offering contrast. Bred from hardier parents so the plant will make it through -15 deg F cold winters. The foliage turns a nice bronze in winter. Winner of the prestigious Award of Excellence in 1973.
