Named and registered in 1927, this 'Pink Pearl' hybrid is rare in the trade, but we were able to be given cuttings from an old collection so we could offer it to you. The flowers are large and dramatic, a soft pink with red spotting. But the most noticeable characteristic is the frilly edges the flowers have. This gives them a very different look, plus they seem to last much longer than other rhododendron flowers. The plant grows large, and will make a good screen over time.
Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
· Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
· Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
