Abies pinsapo 'Marokko'
Abies pinsapo 'Marokko'
Another always popular cultivar of Spanish fir with its distinctive soft, blue-green needles, Abies pinsapo 'Marokko' comes to us from Gunter Eschrich of Recklinghausen, Germany. The dwarf, flattened bun was found in Morocco in the early 2000's among a natural population of Spanish firs. Those who are growing it say it grows about 2 inches per year, and will only be 6-8 inches tall x 20 inches wide after 10 years. Because it is so new to the trade, it is hard to say what its mature form will be. Hardy to zone 7. Cushion or Bun Shaped broom.
