The Chilean Lantern Tree is a highly desired ornamental shrub or small tree, blooming over a long period of spring into summer. The pink-red hanging flowers stay closed and look like little lanterns aglow. The plant is vigorous, so can take some pruning to keep in bounds. Prefers bright shade, and is frost hardy.
