Growing more slowly than most firs, the Korean fir will not become as large of a tree either, making it fit into smaller gardens. The foliage is dense and is silver on the backside of each leaf. The cones are purple and display abundantly on the branches, providing food for hungry birds in winter. This variety is more heat and wind tolerant than other firs, but dislikes wet feet, so a well drained site is essential. |
